St Crallo's Church

Coychurch village near Bridgend boasts the ‘cathedral of the Vale,’ the beautiful Church of St Crallo, which was built in the 13th century on the site of an 8th century building.
The church is open during working weekdays, and short prayers are usually said between 12.45 and 13.00 each day.
With a high roof and lofty interior, this large church contains several effigies and a monument to Arthur Williams, founder of the National Liberal Club. In the churchyard is the grave of Thomas Richards, an eighteenth century curate and compiler of a Welsh to English dictionary.
